It is so easy to fall into the darkness. One thing about the darkness is that it isn’t always a direct blow to your armor, but rather a slow, creeping infiltration of your mind. Sometimes, we have to remind ourselves that people DO love us. Our true friends and family aren’t there out of pity or necessity. They truly care, yet that darkness makes us believe otherwise. Think of the darkness as a lion, and you are the gazelle. This lion is the devil, and not metaphorically. Like the lion, he is going to try and separate you from your herd and take you down. He will position himself between you and any means of escape. What you have to remember is that unlike the gazelle, your herd will be there to fight with you. Your herd is going to do everything they can to keep you alive, you just have to call for help. Satan is going to tell you that nobody cares about your problems, and that you are all alone in the world. LIES! Your herd is there for you. You are part of their herd too. Together your herd, is an unstoppable force in the face of that lion.
We may be God’s sheep, but we are mighty sheep with Him as our shepherd.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” –James 5:16
